WE DID IT | THIS LITTLE HOUSE

IMG_7539

So we did it… weΒ sold our first homeΒ and have bought a new one… which is why I have been absent on here for so long.

We have been working flat out on stripping out the new house as it was in quite a poorly state and is a much bigger project than the last house, but I’m here with a little update as we are now at the stage where we can take a breath and start to plan how we are going to put it all back together again!

Hello my lovelies,

Another quickie today! Raw Food Revolution have FINALLY opened on the Lisburn Road and if you are in or around Belfast you need to try this place. It’s the first place that I’ve gone in Northern IrelandΒ where I can pick anything I want (including yummy scrummy desserts) and not worry about what’s in them or even have to ask! EVERYTHING is vegan… EVERYTHING.

New Hobby | Weaving

Hello my lovelies,

I just wanted to share my new hobby with you all – weaving! I think I have mentioned before that I made a rag rug on a loom that the hubby made me? Well I’m on to a new smaller loom making woven wall hangings! It is so addictive! I’ve made three wal hangings so far and have put the up on Etsy… I can’t keep hanging them round the house, soon we won’t be able to see the wallpaper, ha! You can check them out on my Etsy store through the button on the right or look me up – Pretty Handmade Home. Do any of you girls weave?

House Update | Onwards and Upwards…

Hello my lovelies,

Well we’ve finally done it… the house is as complete as we can make it and we’ve decided to move on to another project, so this week we went ahead and put it up for sale.

It was a BIG decision, trust me on that, but although we love this little house and we have loved spending these past two years renovating and decorating it, it is time for us to move on to pastures new. We live in a pretty rural, costal village and we like the general area so we won’t be moving too far, but having lived in and renovated our current house over the past two years we know exactly what we need in the next house that we don’t have/can’t create in this one.

Master Bedroom | Offset Window Problem SOLVED!

Hello my lovelies,

Things have been moving full speed since we last spoke and I feel like I’ve so much to tell you but not enough time to explain it all right now, so to make things simple I’m-a-guna-break-it-doooown and start with a master bedroom update. Remember waaaay back in February I mentioned a few ideas we had about sorting out our off-set windows? Well we finally got the problem solved. It was a pretty easy job to be fair – an extra long Ikea curtain pole, two pairs of the Red Genevieve Pencil Pleat curtains from Dunelm Mill and a little effort – we had it fixed up in no time.

Operation Good-lookin’ Garden | Painting External Wood

Hello my lovelies,

Since the sun is (mostly) shining and the weather has been relatively dry, the hubby and I have started to focus a bit more on the outside of the house again. Last time the weather picked up we got the back garden turfed and seeded and fenced off the front. Now the race is on to get the second stage of ‘operation goodlookin’-garden’ finished before the poor weather strikes again!

Hidden Danger | Vertical Blinds

Hello my lovelies,

Things have (as always) been pretty hectic this month, but I just wanted to take a few minutes to share this with you as I think it’s very important to get this out there – and this may be a long one… there’s a story involved!

We had to put the bedroom on hold while we worked out a cheap (and safe) solution for the bay window in the living room and we really neededΒ to get that done ASAP…. and this is why…
